Our CEO, Brian Crain joined 2 podcasts to share Chorus One origin stories and give insight into the future of PoS
Brian joined The Erica Show and Journal du Coin to chat about many topics, ranging from the difficulties that Chorus had at the start as a company to how the role of validators will be expanded in the future to his role at the Interchain foundation. The podcasts can be viewed here and here.
We announced a collaboration with Portals - a Solana metaverse
We announced that we are now collaborating with Portals to create a space in downtown of their metaverse. We are planning on creating a room to educate new users in the Solana ecosystem about staking - make sure to follow our socials to learn more about what we are doing with this endeavour in the future - we might just have an easter egg for those who pay close attention.
Our CCO, Felix Lutsch joined the ZKV podcast to talk about the history of liquid staking
Felix went on the ZKV podcast to discuss the backstory of Lido and what role liquid staking will play in the PoS ecosystem in the future. A podcast not to miss, available here.
Network Updates
Assets staked with Chorus One: $4,374,504,168.22
Celo released their 2021 year in review, notable metrics include 300 dApps and 2897 builders in 158 countries on the Celo network.
HackAtom wrapped up, the winners can be found here. The hackathon had 1960 sign-ups and 103 project submissions. Emeris also announced their public launch in Spring of 2022.
Vitalik gave his thoughts on a multi-chain, not cross-chain future. Citing problems that currently exist in the interoperability space.
Helium also released their year in review for 2021, namingly calling the year the ‘Helium Breakout Year’. Notable metrics presented in the article included growth of hotspots from 14k - 400k and 31% of HNT being staked since the network transitioned to PoS.
On Oct 1st (genesis for Juno) a total of 2.3 Million $JUNO ie $ 28,000,000.00 were allocated to JunoHacks. The first of 4 Juno hacks is now ongoing for the next 6 months with $7,000,000 up for grabs.
Snapps docs were released for developers interested in building Snapps on Mina. The community also released a list of Mina Snapps that are currently being built.
Near released their year in review for 2021. An interesting highlight of the metrics presented in the report included NEAR now accounting for 248 DAOs in there network.
Oasis also released their year in review for 2021, headline metrics included 500 node operators on the network and 85% average participation in governance votes for network upgrades.
All unclaimed genesis tokens, ~32.243 Million OSMO and 16572 ION from the original Osmosis airdrop were retrieved and placed back in the Osmosis community pool. The community is now deciding what to do with the tokens.
Polkadot has successfully fully launched as parachains are now live on the network! After 5 years of R&D, all winning parachains are now producing blocks on the network.
Another year in review for Secret, as they released their 2021 lookback that had memorable stats such as the average daily tx increasing from 220 in December 2020 to 9000 tx in December 2022 (~4000% increase in daily tx).
Solana celebrated their year in 2021 too, highlighting some remarkable stats such as going from 70 to 5,145 applications, 5m NFTs being minted and 1.6m daily active users on Phantom.
Anchor, a protocol Chorus is invested in - hit $10bn in TVL for the first time. UST flipped DAI by market cap and Terra flipped Solana by TVL. An incredible month for Terra.
A year after The Graph Network launch, it's home to 150+ Indexers, 2,300+ Curators & 8,000+ Delegators, weaving a lattice of web3 collaboration.
