Monthly Roundup (Feb 20)
Anthem Staking Platform Beta launch, Chainlink node operator, Loom validator shutdown, updates on state of Cosmos development.
Welcome to this month’s overview of what happened in the Chorus One ecosystem:
We launched a first version of Anthem, our multi-network staking platform that will help you manage your portfolio of Proof-of-Stake assets. Anthem’s beta is focusing on historical data for Cosmos staking. Learn more about Anthem here and try it out yourself at https://anthem.chorus.one!
We hosted two further Liquid Staking Working Group calls in which Everett, B-Harvest, Stake Capital, and Matic Network and have presented their designs. We are also starting to share parts of the draft report to foster discussion and to get outsiders to contribute. More information here.
Celo’s incentivized testnet competition concluded. Some participants managed to accumulate more stake than others by getting multiple validators elected early resulting in a compounding effect. The ideal window to start with this was very early in the competition and we did not capitalize on it. We finished with 97.87% of attestations completed and 75.80% in the remote audit, ultimately placing us at rank 30. Find the full final leaderboard here.
Network Data
Some big restructurings are happening in the Cosmos ecosystem. After recent Tendermint clashes, Zaki Manian and other Tendermint employees resigned, but most of them will keep working on Cosmos as part of separate entities supported by the Interchain Foundation.
Overall this could very well be good news for the Cosmos ecosystem. Breaking up disfunctional organizational structures and decentralizing development could over time lead to a more agile and resilient network. There are already lot of entities that contribute to this ecosystem aside from Tendermint - make sure to check out the projects the ICF has funded in 2019.
We have decommissioned our Loom validator on Feb 22, 2020 due to economic infeasibility and because the project has not developed as we believed it would. In case you were staking with us and missed our announcement, find it here to learn how to re- or undelegate your tokens.
We have joined the Chainlink ecosystem as a node operator! Learn about our motivations in the official announcement. Find our node e.g. on the BTCUSD price feed utilized by the DeFi protocol Synthetix.
There is no staking on Chainlink yet. The team is currently working out their staking model, we will inform you once there is more information available.
