Monthly Update (Sep 20)
Custodial staking with Finoa and Chorus One; launch on SKALE, Oasis, NEAR; and other updates.
We announced our partnership with German-based qualified custodian Finoa. This partnership goes beyond purely offering staking to Finoa customers, but also signifies our first foray into yield-optimization with an initial product focused on Polkadot staking. Read more in the announcement.
We launched validators on three mainnets: SKALE, Oasis, and NEAR! More in the updates below.
We filled two roles: welcome our new full stack engineer Sammy, who will focus on Anthem and Roea, our new operations manager (and, finally, first female hire :)).
Network Data
Snapshot data from October 9, 2020:
We are excited to have gone live on NEAR (chorusone.poolv1.near)! Our friends from Dokia Capital build a tool that allows you to stake using Ledger, NEAR Wallet, or straight from the mnemonic (hint: you can find an updated list of wallets and staking guides on networks we support here).
A vote to activate staking rewards and transfers is currently ongoing. There’s a discussion on the criteria required for this upgrade to go down without any surprises. We commented our criteria there and will likely vote soon, progress of the vote can be followed here.
Oasis beta mainnet went live, similar to earlier testnet upgrades, without any complications.
We are in the process of expanding our Anthem integration of Oasis to allow users to stake ROSE tokens via Ledger devices. This will be rolled out soon™.
The SKALE mainnet went live and the first month-long staking epoch started, after a bunch of work to accept all delegations (a consequence of SKALE’s design that requires validators to run multiple nodes). We are excited to welcome over 1,500 new delegators to our community!
We’d like to thank the SKALE team for their support and the Activate team for their platform through which SKL token holders can delegate their tokens.
Lots of things happening in the Solana ecosystem. Felix wrote a small post on the journey of Solana starting from Anatoly’s initial Proof-of-History idea. Read it here.
The Wormhole bridge between Solana and Ethereum has been released. Read how it achieves interoperability between the two blockchains in this post.
The Tendermint team recently unbonded all of their ATOM and instituted a new delegation pattern designed to support validators that contribute to the ecosystem. Read about it here. We are grateful to have made it into the second highest tier and thank Tendermint for the 425,000 ATOM delegation.
Our friends from B-Harvest are going to build an AMM module for the Cosmos SDK. We are very excited about this project from this team with deep blockchain and finance expertise.
We have spun up a second validator node on the Centrifuge mainnet. If you are our delegator, make sure to add it to your nomination list and optimize your returns! We will soon also offer our automated staking solution (mentioned above) for Centrifuge in partnership with Finoa.
