A very exciting month for the growing Solana ecosystem. Circle announced their partnership to launch Solana Pay, bringing a quick and low-cost crypto payment standard into everyday life. 1Password also announced they will be including the Phantom wallet in their services. Finally, Portals (the Solana metaverse and NFT project) raised $5 million in seed funding.
The natively interoperable characteristics of Cosmos are gaining steam. This previous month, Cosmos saw a 250% increase in IBC transfers between 36 connected chains. With testsnets coming to the chain and $120 billion of digital assets secured, their place is stronger than ever in the L1 space.
A new sharding design was unveiled earlier this month by the Ethereum R&D team. Danksharding simplifies the previous scaling proposals for more efficient block building. On the topic of scaling, a big win for ZK Rollups: zkSync has launched the first EVM-compatible ZK Rollup on public testnet!
Chainlink continues to pave the way towards a safer and more secure multi-chain ecosystem with its Cross-Chain Interoperability Protocol. And, according to a recent research report from Bank of America, it is the likely driver behind DeFi's growth to $200B+ TVL.
The integration of Lido’s stETH into the Aave Protocol is live for voting! The community is also voting to expand their liquid staking operations onto Avalanche, with other integrations in the works.
Besides making blockchain data easily accessible, The Graph is helping to accelerate the growth of the data-indexing ecosystem: they have launched a $205M fund for grants aimed at Dapp builders in the DeFi, NFT, DAO, marketplace, cross-chain infrastructure and metaverse sectors.
A number of sports partnerships caught attention during the month of February. Football team Manchester United welcomed Tezos as the team’s official blockchain, appearing in gear and opening the space for more collaboration in the NFT and metaverse spaces.
Terra announced its own 5-year, $38.15M partnership with the Washington Nationals. In another huge move, the Luna Foundation Guard closed a $1 billion private token sale (one of the largest up to date) to form a Bitcoin reserve for their native UST stablecoin.
The results from the Agoric public token sale are out: The JavaScript-based smart contract network has added over 48,000 new token holders to the Agoric community, with $50M in BLD tokens purchased throughout the course of the sale.
